Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Stafford on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Macksville out of the water with a 56-6 final score. The Trojans pushed the score to 50-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs had no chance of recovering from.
Hodgeman County better keep an eye on Dylan Brozek. He was instrumental in Stafford's win, rushing for 149 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, and also throwing for 49 yards and one touchdown. Brozek showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 53 yards.
Stafford didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. James Engelbrecht and Landon Marks were the leaders of the group effort as each produced two apiece. Marks got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The victory got Stafford back to even at 2-2. As for Hodgeman County, their record is now 4-0.
Everything came up roses for Hodgeman County against Stafford when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 48-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Longhorns since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
