Softball Recap: McCook Takes a Loss

McCook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alliance Bulldogs. The Bison were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

McCook got a good showing from Gracey Cornelsen, who pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Cassidy Rogers made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Peyton C., who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

McCook's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Alliance, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-16.

Coming up, McCook will face off against Adams Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alliance, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-6 win against Bayard on the 27th.
