Baseball Recap: Newark Comes Up Short

Newark was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Lisle Lions, falling 14-4. If the Norsemen were looking for revenge after losing 16-3 to the Lions when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Newark saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Shields, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Newark's record now sits at 9-18. As for Lisle, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-18-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Newark will challenge Dwight at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lisle, they will face off against Chicago Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
