Softball Recap: North Callaway's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After a string of five wins, North Callaway's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the California Pintos by a score of 6-5. The Thunderbirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pintos apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Megan Schmidt made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and three runs. Madyson Gordon was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base.

North Callaway's loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for California, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6.

North Callaway has already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Wright City on the 4th. As for California, they will take on Jamestown at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
