Baseball Recap: Red Bud Comes Up Short

Red Bud and Massac County squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Red Bud had to settle for second. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. The Musketeers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Red Bud saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Seth Hohgrefe, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Red Bud's loss dropped their record down to 19-11. As for Massac County, the win got them back to even at 14-14.

Red Bud does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Massac County, they will square off against Carterville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
