Softball Recap: Alliance Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Alliance not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since August 23rd (when they won 16-1). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lexington Minutemen a 13-0 shutout. The win was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Regan Cornish was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Cornish was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Alivia Osborn was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August. Lexi Lopez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Alliance always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lexington only posted an OBP of .267.

Alliance's record is now 10-16. As for Lexington, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-20.

Looking ahead, Alliance will be playing at home against Gering on Tuesday. Alliance's pitchers better be ready for this one: Gering has averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Lexington, they are taking a road trip to take on York at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Minutemen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dukes have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
