Bayard had to settle for second on Thursday, but Kaidence Lee sure wasn't going down easily. Lee turned in nothing short of a gem, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Even though Lee couldn't lead Bayard over Alliance, she won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers haven't beaten the Bulldogs recently, having gone 0-9 since September of 2022.
