Baseball Recap: Reed-Custer Takes a Loss

Reed-Custer came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-1 to the Coal City Coalers. The Comets haven't had much luck with the Coalers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Reed-Custer's loss dropped their record down to 7-23. As for Coal City, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 27-7.

Reed-Custer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Coal City, they will square off against Wilmington at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Coalers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
