It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Westlake ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Chapel Hill Panthers 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on five straight.

Westlake pushed their record up to 12-11 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Chapel Hill, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Westlake beat the Panthers by a score of 11-8 on Wednesday.
