Baseball Recap: Hamilton/Warsaw Comes Up Short

Hamilton/Warsaw was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat. They lost 9-3 to the Camp Point Central Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 back in April.

Hamilton/Warsaw saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Layton Conkright, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Hamilton/Warsaw's loss dropped their record down to 7-22. As for Camp Point Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

Hamilton/Warsaw and Camp Point Central are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Titans will take on Cuba/Spoon River Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Camp Point Central, they will square off against Pittsfield at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Saukees have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
