Softball Recap: Morrow Takes a Loss

Morrow had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 0-5 to make it four. They lost 22-11 to the Lovejoy Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 20-11 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Armani Smith led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with seven stolen bases and two runs. Kimorah Garrison was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs.

As for Lovejoy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.5 runs over those games.

On Lovejoy's side, Kennedi Harley was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave Harley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maliyah Robinson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.
