Baseball Recap: Mansueto Comes Up Short

Mansueto had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 9-5 to make it four. They came up short against the Argo Argonauts, falling 18-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Leopards were not able to get on the board.

As for Argo, their win bumped their record up to 8-26. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

For Argo's part, Armani Abeja and Brennan Mackessy made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Abeja tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Mackessy pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Abeja has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. At bat, Abeja went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs, while Mackessy went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave Abeja a new career-high.

In other batting news, Carlos Gracia was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025. Matthew Mateyack was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base.

As of now, neither Mansueto nor Argo have any future games scheduled.
