Softball Recap: Valdosta Comes Up Short

Valdosta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss. They fell 4-0 to the Lowndes Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, with their most recent defeat being a 5-0 loss on Thursday.

Jesselyn Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Valdosta's defeat dropped their record down to 3-24. As for Lowndes, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-20.

Valdosta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lowndes, they will challenge Perry at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
