Basketball Game Preview: Glendale Vikings vs. Juniata Valley Hornets

Glendale is 1-9 against Juniata Valley since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Glendale Vikings will be playing at home against the Juniata Valley Hornets at 7:15 p.m. Glendale will be strutting in after a victory while Juniata Valley will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Wednesday, Glendale got the win against West Branch by a conclusive 39-16.

Madison Peterson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 16 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Glendale's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brielle Mcmillen, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Juniata Valley lost to Williamsburg on the road by a 49-31 margin on Thursday. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Blue Pirates recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Glendale will need focus on slowing down Kassidy Watson, one of several Juniata Valley players who made an impact when they last played. She put up eight points and nine rebounds.

Glendale's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Juniata Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Glendale suffered a grim 48-27 defeat to Juniata Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Juniata Valley's Aubrey Anderson, who went 7 of 16 on her way to 23 points in addition to six steals and five boards. Now that Glendale knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
