Softball Recap: New Manchester Gets the Win

New Manchester took an eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Rome, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Jaguar sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 win over the Wolves on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Jaguar considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Brianna Battle was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double. Da'Najah Williams was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

New Manchester's victory bumped their record up to 5-10-1. As for Rome, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Manchester will welcome Douglas County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rome, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Paulding at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
