Football Recap: Circle Takes a Loss

Circle played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Mulvane Wildcats and fell 43-16. The Thunderbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Circle still got an impressive performance from Dominic Sawyer, who picked up 189 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Sawyer also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making six total tackles and defending one pass.

A big part of Mulvane's victory came down to the chemistry between Manny Myers and his top target Grady Myers. Manny rushed for 231 yards and three scores while picking up 9.6 yards per carry while Grady rushed for 146 yards and one TD while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Those 231 rushing yards gave Manny a new career-high.

Circle now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Mulvane, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Circle has already played their next matchup, a 42-20 loss against Buhler on the 26th. As for Mulvane, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 26-23 win against Augusta on the 26th.
