Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) closed out its season with a dominant 35-0 win over No. 19
Serra (San Mateo, Calif.) in the CIF Open Division state championship at Saddleback College. It was the Monarchs fourth Open Division title since 2017. Senior quarterback
Elijah Brown completed 18 of 23 passes for 310 yards and four touchdowns as he closed out his legendary career 42-2. He became the first Mater Dei quarterback to win multiple state titles.

North Shore (Houston) clinched a spot in the UIL 6A Division 1 state championship for the fifth time over the last six years with a 23-14 win over No. 22
Westlake (Austin). The defense dominated after
Jack Kayser tied the game at 14-14 early in the third quarter with a 45-yard touchdown run. The Mustangs forced three interceptions capped off with a pick-6 on the final play of the game.
They will face No. 13
Duncanville in the UIL 6A Division 1 state championship at AT&T Stadium next Saturday at 3 p.m. The Panthers beat
North Crowley (Fort Worth) 52-10 in the other semifinal. This will be the fifth meeting in the state championship between these two Texas powers since 2018. North Shore won the first three in 2018, 2019 and 2021 but Duncanville won its first state title since 1998 with a 28-21 victory last year.
In a matchup of heavyweights in Alabama's 6A state championship game
Clay-Chalkville (Pinson) pulled out a 31-28 win over No. 25
Saraland at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Five-star Alabama commit
Jaylen Mbakwe accounted for all four touchdowns for the Cougars as they finished the season 14-0.
Antone Ellison connected on a 26-yard field to give Clay-Chalkville its first lead of the game at 31-28 with 2:27 remaining.
Saraland drove the ball down to the Cougars 10-yard line as
KJ Lacey tried to run it in on the final play. He was tackled at the 2-yard line as Clay-Chalkville won its second 6A state title since 2021. Lacey finished the game breaking the 6A state championship record throwing for 389 yards and two touchdowns.
Mbakwe had a monster performance throwing for 152 yards and a touchdown to go with 26 carries for 130 yards and three more scores. Five-star Alabama commit
Ryan Williams accounted for all four Saraland touchdowns. He had 11 receptions for 232 yards and two scores to go with a 2-yard touchdown run and an 85-yard kickoff return score.
The biggest upset came in Florida as
Berkeley Prep (Tampa) stunned No. 11
Norland (Miami) with a 28-20 win in the 2M state championship. It was the first state title for the Buccaneers and legendary head coach Dominick Ciao. Four-star
Dallas Golden finished with 162 yards rushing and accounted for two touchdowns.
Joseph Troupe added 130 yards on the ground and also had a touchdown reception. The Bucs took down
American Heritage (Plantation) and Norland in back-to-back weeks to win one of the toughest playoff brackets in the country.

St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) won its fifth consecutive state title with a 31-28 win over
Homestead in the 3M title game. The Raiders jumped out to a 17-0 lead but the Broncos responded in the second half to make the game interesting. They cut the deficit to 24-21 but the Raiders got a huge sack on fourth down to gain momentum back on their side.
Andrew Indorf connected with
Andreus Madison for a 69-yard score with 5:26 left. After the Broncos scored to cut the lead to 31-28, the Raiders jumped on the ensuing onside kick and were able to kneel the clock out.

Cocoa won the Florida 2S state championship with a 20-6 win against
Bradford (Starke). The Tigers closed out the season winning 12 straight by an average margin of 32.3 points per game.
