Softball Game Preview: Fayette County Tigers vs. Troup County Tigers

Fayette County hasn't had much luck against Troup County recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Fayette County will head out on the road to face off against Troup County at 6:30 p.m. Fayette County will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Fayette County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 23-6 margin over Sandy Creek on Tuesday.

T Jordan was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of S Carter, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Fayette County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.4.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Troup County duked it out with Trinity Christian on Tuesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Lions. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Fayette County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Troup County, their record is now 9-14.

Everything went Fayette County's way against Troup County in their previous meeting on September 11th, as Fayette County made off with a 9-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fayette County since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
