Baseball Game Preview: Tri-Valley Vikings vs. Rantoul Eagles

The Tri-Valley Vikings are taking a road trip to square off against the Rantoul Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tri-Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Rantoul's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

While Tri-Valley's victory against Fieldcrest wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Knights 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, while Rantoul put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Georgetown-Ridge Farm. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Buffaloes.

Tri-Valley's win bumped their record up to 19-12-1. As for Rantoul, their victory bumped their record up to 16-13.

Tri-Valley couldn't quite finish off Rantoul in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 and fell 4-2. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
