Central York extended their winning streak  to eight  on Friday, bumping them up to 8-0. They breezed past the Red Lion Lions to the tune of  56-18. Considering the Panthers have won six matchups by more than 24  points this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
Leading Central York to victory were  Legend Johnson and  Brooklyn Nace.  Johnson rushed for 167 yards and three  TDs on only eight carries, while  Nace threw for 140 yards and three  touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Johnson's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.  Hristos Panopoulus made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Central York was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 244  rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Red Lion only  rushed for one.
 Central York didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Panopoulus and  Savien Venable. Panopoulus got in on the action too, converting a pick  into a touchdown.
As for Red Lion,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-6. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 299th, while Central York is ranked 23rd).
 Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Octavius Thompson, who picked up 56 receiving yards and a pair of  scores. Thompson also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up  a  sack and making four total tackles.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming  games. Central York will venture away from home to  take on Archbishop Hoban  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Red Lion, they will head out to  square off against Northeastern  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Lions will be up against the Bobcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 55.75  points per  contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
