King's Academy's game  last Friday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Friday. They claimed a resounding  49-0 victory over the Savoy Cardinals. The high-scoring effort was just what the Knights needed considering they were shut out in their previous   contest.
Among those leading the charge was   Jacob Pearce, who rushed for 84 yards and one  touchdown on only eight carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 57 yards.
 King's Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out   Denver Perchez. three times.  Caleb Gardner was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. King's Academy got some further help from  Adam Huval: he picked up  a  sack, forced one fumble,  and made 20 total tackles (4.0 for loss).
King's Academy's first  win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Savoy,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
 King's Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Trinidad at 7:00  p.m.  on  the 27th. The Knights will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 31  points  every time they've taken the field this season. As for Savoy, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  matchup,  a  58-12  loss against Greenville Christian on the 19th.
