MaxPreps Top 25 high school football rankings

Katy, Camden County continue to rise; Arkansas power Bentonville joins rankings.

Houston-area power Katy moves into the Top 10 in this week's Xcellent 25 National Football Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.

Katy, which has been billed as the top team in the state of Texas for several weeks, vaulted up the rankings by dismantling city rival Morton Ranch 62-24 to move up to No. 9.

Making the jump into the Top 5 is Camden County. The South Georgia powerhouse, led by head coach Jeff Herron, may have its best team ever. On Friday, it throttled Valdosta 43-6.

Bentonville (Ark.) joins the rankings, while Don Bosco Prep reenters.

1. (1) Manatee (Bradenton, Fla.), 4-0

Manatee shows no signs of slowing down, as it blasted crosstown rival Southeast 52-13. Qwixcore / Game recap

2. (2) Curtis (River Ridge, La.), 5-0
It was another easy victory for Curtis, which defeated Riverside 59-0. Curtis should be on cruise control until the playoffs. Box score

3. (3) Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.), 5-0
Idle. It remains to be seen how Santa Margarita will perform against its Trinity League schedule without star quarterback Johnny Stanton.

4. (6) Camden County (Kingsland, Ga.), 5-0

5. (7) St. Ignatius (Cleveland), 6-0
Against traditional rival Glenville, St. Ignatius continued to look like the Division I title favorite, winning 35-7. Qwixcore

Bellevue notched its third-consecutive shutout with a 49-0 win over Juanita.

7. (5) Byrnes (Duncan, S.C.), 6-0
It was a complete effort for Byrnes in a 49-7 victory over Spartanburg.

8. (8) Trinity (Louisville, Ky.), 6-0

Trinity entered this season with less acclaim than it had at the end of last year. Still, the Shamrocks remained undefeated. This week Trinity beat rival St. Xavier 34-7. Qwixcore

10. (9) De La Salle (Concord, Calif.), 5-0

In its lowest-scoring output of the season, Lassiter defeated Woodstock 30-7.

The Cardinals' renowned defense did not disappoint on Friday night, as Colerain blanked Mason 35-0.

22. (24) Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas), 4-1

In its first in-state game of the season, Bishop Gorman pounded Legacy 70-0.

23. (25) Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, Md.), 4-1

24. (NR) Bentonville (Ark.), 5-0

25. (NR) Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.), 3-1
