Basketball Recap: Everett's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

Everett managed to keep up with Juniata Valley until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Everett Warriors lost 61-39 to the Juniata Valley Hornets. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Everett's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kirstin Feathers, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Feathers a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Morgan Bowser, who posted 11 points.

Even though they lost, Everett smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive matches.

Juniata Valley found their leader in sophomore Aubrey Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 steals. Anderson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds.

Everett's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 10-5. As for Juniata Valley, they pushed their record up to 10-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Everett has already played their next game, a 56-48 loss against Southern Fulton on the 29th. As for Juniata Valley, they will head out to square off against Moshannon Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
