Softball Recap: Troup County Wins Going Away Against Upson-Lee

Troup County got themselves on the board against Upson-Lee on Thursday, but Upson-Lee never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Knights. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won three in a row.

Zoe Graham was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadley Johnston, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Troup County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive matchups.

Troup County's record is now 5-14. As for Upson-Lee, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-16.

Coming up, Troup County will face off against Callaway at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Cavaliers have now posted at least ten runs in their last five games. As for Upson-Lee, they will challenge Fayette County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
