Football Game Preview: Madrid Tigers vs. Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks

The Madrid Tigers will challenge the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Colfax-Mingo took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Madrid, who comes in off a win.

Madrid is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 54-20 win over Martensdale-St. Mary's. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their six-point performance the contest before.

Kinnick Grimm had a dynamite game, rushing for 53 yards and one touchdown, while also picking up 52 receiving yards and one score.

Madrid didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Nash Ramirez and Grimm.

Meanwhile, Colfax-Mingo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against Lynnville-Sully, falling 56-6. While losing is never fun, the Tigerhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 260th, while the Hawks are ranked 119th).

Colfax-Mingo's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Madrid, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Everything came up roses for Madrid against Colfax-Mingo in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, as the team secured a 67-6 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigerhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
