High school basketball rankings: Salesian, De Pere join updated MaxPreps Top 25

Thirteen ranked teams have already shifted to postseason play while eight more conclude regular season action this week.

A pair of new teams entered this week's MaxPreps Top 25 high school basketball rankings. Salesian (Richmond, Calif.) debuts at No. 23 after concluding the regular season with just one loss while De Pere re-joins the mix ahead of its push for a second straight Division 1 state title in Wisconsin.

Previous No. 14 Ridge View (Columbia, S.C.) suffered a 46-45 setback to A.C. Flora (Columbia) in its final regular-season game and previous No. 16 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) fell to St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy (Downey) 76-54 in the opening game of CIF Southern Section Open Division pool play.

MaxPreps Top 25 basketball rankings

Record: 22-4 | Last week: 1
Took down Miami 84-61 to capture the Class 7A District 16 title paced by 21 points and 10 rebounds from five-star junior Cameron Boozer. The Explorers begin their quest for a third consecutive state title this week with an opening-round matchup against Boca Raton on Thursday.

Top 50 Duke signee Darren Harris exploded for a career-high 52 points in a 101-58 victory over St. Mary's Ryken (Leonardstown, Md.). The Panthers look to close out the regular season unbeaten in WCAC action with matchups against DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) tonight and Bishop McNamara (Forestville, Md.) on Friday.

Following a 63-55 victory over Hebron (Carrollton), the Panthers look to complete their unblemished regular season slate with a contest against Flower Mound tonight.

After road victories over Ardrey Kell (Charlotte) 75-60 and Olympic (Charlotte) 77-34, the Mustangs finish regular season action this week with games against Berry (Charlotte) tonight and South Mecklenburg (Charlotte) on Friday.

Knocked off Northern Highlands 63-49 in the Bergen County Jamboree semifinals behind a game-high 31 points from five-star Rutgers commit Dylan Harper. The Ironmen face Ramapo (Franklin Lakes) in the Bergen County Jamboree title game Sunday to close out regular season play.

Topped the century mark for the second time this season in a 101-75 victory over McNeil (Austin) guided by 25 points and five blocks from four-star Villanova signee Josiah Moseley and 20 points and five assists from junior guard Uzziah Buntyn. The Tigers' final regular season game is tonight against Manor.

Opened CIF Southern Section Open Division pool play with a 61-51 victory over Centennial (Corona) led by 15 points apiece from four-star USC signee Trent Perry and top 40 junior Nikolas Khamenia. The Wolverines look to avenge their regular season loss to No. 10 Sierra Canyon tonight in their second pool play contest.

Avenged a January loss by defeating No. 24 Bishop O'Connell 70-52 behind 19 points, six rebound and four rebounds from top 80 junior Derek Dixon and 18 points, 12 rebounds and four assists from top 60 junior Nykolas Lewis. The Eagles conclude their regular season schedule with matchups against St. John's (Washington, D.C.) tonight and Takoma Academy (Tacoma Park, Md.) on Sunday.

Pulled out a 72-64 victory over Pewaukee led by 26 points, five assists and four rebounds from top 20 Duke signee Kon Knueppel. The Vikings are favorites to capture their first state championship since 2014 with two games remaining on their schedule.

Began CIF Southern Section Open Division pool play with a quality win over St. John Bosco (Bellflower) 72-67 led by a game-high 23 points from Cal Sate Northridge signee Noah Williams. The Trailblazers have a showdown looming against No. 7 Havard-Westlake tonight.

Notched wins over Freehold Borough (Freehold) 94-46 and Rumson-Fair Haven (Rumson) 61-35 to advance to the Shore Conference Tournament semifinals where they face Christian Brothers (Lincroft) on Wednesday.

Escaped with a 68-67 victory over Iona Prep (New Rochelle) to improve to 14-0 in CHSAA AA league play. The Crusaders were led by 18 points, three rebounds and three assists from top 25 Kentucky signee Boogie Fland and 18 points and five rebounds from Quinnipiac commit Braylan Ritvo.

Pulled out a 74-73 victory over Windermere after closing the game on a 6-0 run to capture the Class 7A District 5 title. Georgia Southern signee Jordan Tillery converted the game-winning basket with 22 seconds remaining. The Pioneers begin Class 7A state tournament play with a showdown vs. Osceola (Kissimmee) on Thursday.

Both losses came against out-of-state opponents as Grayson finished 18-0 against Peach State opponents during the regular season. Gicarri Harris was named Region 4-AAAAAAA Player of the Year while five-star junior Jacob Wilkins and three-star junior Amir Taylor were named first team All-Region.

Tipped off CIF Southern Section Open Division pool play with a 64-51 victory over JSerra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano) led by 17 points from top 15 junior Brayden Burries. The Mustangs have now avenged both of their losses over their past two games.

Following seven straight wins to conclude regular season action, five-star Rutgers signee Ace Bailey was named Region 3-AAAAAAA Player of the Year while seniors Jaye Nash and Nnadozie Onyirimba earned first team All-Region honors.

Slipped past Crean Lutheran (Irvine) 74-64 in overtime paced by 32 points from four-star Houston signee Mercy Miller before knocking off Poly 65-53. Those wins helped the Knights advance to the CIF Southern Section Division 1 quarterfinals against Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita) tonight.

Extended the nation's longest win streak to 54 games dating back to the start of last season with a pair of lopsided wins last week. The Vikings have two games remaining this week before beginning their quest for a second consecutive Class 3A state title.

After the Longhorns finished 12-0 in region play, three-star USF signee C.J. Brown was named Region 6-AAAAA Player of the Year while seniors Jaylen Colon and Cannon Richards were named first team All-Region.

Closed out the regular season with a pair of victories by greater than 50 points to increase their margin of victory to over 28 points per contest on the season. The Tigers' lone losses came against No. 8 Gonzaga and No. 19 Kell.

Secured an impressive 73-53 victory over George Rogers Clark (Winchester) to hand the 2022 state champions their second loss of the season. Top 30 junior Malachi Moreno contributed 15 points and 22 rebounds in the win.

Captured the Class 7A District 9 championship with an 84-63 victory over Durant led by 22 points, nine rebounds, five blocks and four assists from Yale commit Isaac Celiscar. The Blue Devils open Class 7A state tournament action with a first-round matchup against Sumner (Riverview) on Thursday.

After concluding regular season action with just one loss, the Pride have a lengthy layoff before returning to the court for a CIF Open Division North Coast Section semifinal contest against the winner of San Ramon Valley (Danville) vs. Granada (Livermore) on Feb. 21.

Bounced back from a 70-52 loss to No. 8 Gonzaga with a blowout win over The Heights (Potomac, Md.) before escaping with a 57-56 victory over Clinton Grace (Clinton, Md.) at the Morgan Wootten Showcase. Three games remain in regular season play for the Knights.

Re-enter the rankings after winning six consecutive games since a two-point loss to No. 9 Wisconsin Lutheran back on Jan. 13. The Redbirds have won 49 of their past 50 games dating back to the start of last season.
