Baseball Recap: Newark Gets the Win

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Newark ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Dwight Trojans 4-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Norsemen as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Newark's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Seyller, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Shawn Seyller was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Newark's victory bumped their record up to 10-18. As for Dwight, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-12.

Newark does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dwight, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-5 loss against Streator on the 25th.
