Basketball Recap: Zeke Paznokas' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lyons over Heritage Christian

Lyons lost against Heritage Christian back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lyons Lions took a 52-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Heritage Christian Eagles. The Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Lyons' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zeke Paznokas, who shot 42% from the field on his way to 16 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Zack LaCrosse, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Levi Hermsen, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 16 points and five assists. The dominant performance also gave Hermsen a new career-high in blocks (two). David Kubie was another key player, putting up six points in addition to eight assists and seven boards.

Lyons' defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Heritage Christian, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-8 record.

Lyons didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-55 loss against St. Mary's on the 7th. As for Heritage Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-32 win against Ridgway on the 7th.
