Baseball Recap: Chattahoochee Takes a Loss

The matchup between Chattahoochee and Johns Creek on Friday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Cougars fell just short of the Gladiators by a score of 10-9. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Gladiators earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Rex Stockhausen was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Chattahoochee has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Johns Creek, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-16 record.

Chattahoochee and Johns Creek could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Cougars (ranked 308th) will meet Gainesville (ranked 83rd) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Johns Creek will take on Holy Innocents Episcopal at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (323 vs. 100).
