Baseball Game Preview: Lakeview Academy Lions vs. George Walton Academy Bulldogs

Lakeview Academy is 1-9 against George Walton Academy since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lions will face off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Lakeview Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

Lakeview Academy's last matchup with Bethlehem Christian Academy could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Thursday. The Lions came up short against the Knights, falling 10-0. The Lions' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Lakeview Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Walton, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

George Walton Academy came out on top against Riverside Military Academy on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive 15-run first inning. The Bulldogs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 17-0 shutout. That 17 run margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Brock Lowe and Beckett Lacour did most of the damage at the plate: Lowe got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while Lacour went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylor Lowe, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base.

George Walton Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .767. The last time their OBP was this high was was before the start of last season.

The win (which was George Walton Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 6-17. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lakeview Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.

Lakeview Academy might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from George Walton Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
