After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chanhassen, Mankato East was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Waconia Wildcats 22-21. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mankato East's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.8 points over those games. As for Waconia, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2.

Coming up, Mankato East will face off against Apple Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Waconia, they will welcome Chaska at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
