By Kevin Askeland Mar 23, 2023, 3:00pm

Damon Bailey, Monta Ellis, Kevin Love and Dajuan Wagner among legendary scorers on the list.

Two high school basketball players joined the MaxPreps lists of all-time scoring records in each state during the 2022-23 season. Josh Hubbard of Madison-Ridgeland Academy (Madison) became the all-time leading scorer in Mississippi with 4,367 points. He breaks the record of Robert Woodard of Columbus (Colum, who had 4,274 points from 1983-86.

Hubbard's total now ranks No. 18 on the all-time scoring list in the MaxPreps National High School Record Book.

Kase Wynott of Lapwai also broke records for total points in a season and scoring average for a season in Idaho. He scored 952 points for an average of 35.3 points per game. With 1,991 career points, Wynott could also become the state's all-time scorer with 545 points next year. Jared Mercer of Kamiah holds the record with 2,536 points.

Steve Blehm of North Dakota is the only player to hold all four scoring records in his state. Bennie Fuller of Arkansas, Joseph Girard III of New York and Semi Ojeleye of Kansas hold three records each.

Sources for the records include the NFHS Record Book, state association record books, Cal-Hi Sports Record Book by Mark Tennis and Nelson Tennis, Idahoops.com, Minnesota Basketball Records, Bob Springer's Texas High School Basketball Records, state basketball coaches association websites, Luckyshow.org by Paul S.
