Soccer Game Preview: Hillcrest Academy vs. Central Lee

Hillcrest Academy is a perfect 5-0 against Central Lee since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Ravens will head out to face off against the Hawks at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Central Lee will be up against a hot Hillcrest Academy team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Ravens blew past Sigourney 11-2 on Tuesday. That's two games straight that Hillcrest Academy have won by exactly nine goals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Central Lee, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Highland a 3-0 shutout on Monday. Central Lee haven't had any issues with Highland recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Central Lee pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five contests. As for Hillcrest Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-3-2.

Hillcrest Academy beat Central Lee by a goal when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ravens since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
