High school softball: Addison Jackson of Louisiana tops national home run leaderboard with 24

St. Amant senior has a .486 batting average and is 28-1 with a 0.95 ERA in the circle.

Addison Jackson of St. Amant (La.) leads high school softball nationally with 24 home runs. The Boston College-bound senior is hitting .486 with 61 RBI.

Jackson does it all for the Gators, who are ranked No. 11 nationally in this week's MaxPreps Top 25. In addition to her exploits at the plate, she is 28-1 with a 0.95 ERA and 257 strikeouts on the mound.

In the first game of the season Jackson struck out 13 batters in six innings. The next day she launched three bombs.

Desirae Spearman of Hanks (El Paso, Texas) is second in the nation with 23 home runs. The senior is headed to New Mexico State and has 44 extra-base hits and 61 RBI for the 32-1 Knights.

Senior Kamryn Broussard of Iowa (La.) and freshman Mia Clemmer of Coahoma (Texas) are tied for third in the country with 20 homers a piece.



Broussard is hitting .510 on the year and hit a three-run walkoff home run on April 18 to win 5-3. Clemmer is hitting .685 and has recorded a hit in six consecutive contests.
