Football Recap: Baxter Springs Takes a Loss

Baxter Springs played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 34-14 to the Parsons Vikings. The Lions have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Chandler Hentzen produced another solid effort rushing for 416 yards and four scores while picking up 13.0 yards per carry, and also picking up 46 receiving yards and one TD for Parsons. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Hentzen a new career-high.

Baxter Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Parsons, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.

Baxter Springs has already played their next game (against Columbus), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Parsons, they will square off against Frontenac at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders' defense has only allowed 14 points per game this season, so the Vikings' offense will have their work cut out for them.
