Football Recap: Fort Scott Comes Up Short

Fort Scott came into this matchup off a tough 28-point loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Parsons Vikings by a score of 25-22 on Friday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Leading Parsons to victory were Chandler Hentzen and Andrew Houk. Hentzen gained 221 total yards and two touchdowns, while Houk threw for 137 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Those 137 passing yards gave Houk a new career-high.

Fort Scott's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Parsons, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Fort Scott didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 15-8 victory against Independence on the 19th. As for Parsons, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 52-6 defeat against Christ Prep Academy on the 20th.
