This week's winner of the MaxPreps Polynesian Bowl Player of the Week is DeMarcco Hellams of DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.). The future Crimson Tide defensive back joins the likes of two-time winner Grant Gunnell), along with Brian Williams, Jameson Williams, DJ Uiagalelei, Taulia Tagovailoa and Jacob Conover as recipients of the weekly award.

Hellams and No. 25 DeMatha take on Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) in the WCAC championship on Sunday — a game featured as one of the MaxPreps Top 10 Games of the Week.

Only players who are selected for the 2019 and 2020 Polynesian Bowl are eligible to be selected for the Player of the Week.
