Football Recap: Gateway Christian Takes a Loss

If Gateway Christian was feeling good fresh off their 68-16 takedown of Mescalero Apache last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors took a blow against the Melrose Buffaloes on Friday, falling 48-6. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Gateway Christian's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-3. As for Melrose, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Gateway Christian will take on rival Tatum at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Melrose is set to square off against their familiar foe Mescalero Apache at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
