Baseball Recap: Amundsen Comes Up Short

Amundsen was the 3-1 winner over Benet Academy when they last played one another back in May of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings fell 4-1 to the Redwings on Tuesday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alex Barsky was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Amundsen saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Becker, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Amundsen's loss dropped their record down to 18-11-1. As for Benet Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-12 record this season.

Amundsen will face off against Latin at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Romans have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Benet Academy, they will take on St. Charles East at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
