Baseball Recap: Crete-Monee Gets the Win

Crete-Monee put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They never let the Thornridge Falcons get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. Considering the Warriors have won 16 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Damian Cerda looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Wyatt Love was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Caden Dittemore, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Crete-Monee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Crete-Monee's win bumped their record up to 17-14. As for Thornridge, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

Looking ahead, Crete-Monee will square off against Evergreen Park at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Thornridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
