Eastside waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Garrett Railroaders. While the Blazers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Eastside got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 21-25, 15-13.

Despite the loss, Garrett saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kaylee Gaar had 16 digs and three assists.

Eastside's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Garrett, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2.

Eastside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Manchester on the 6th. As for Garrett, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against New Haven on the 6th.
