Baseball Game Preview: Etowah Eagles vs. Parkview Panthers

The Etowah Eagles will face off against the Parkview Panthers on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Etowah sitting on ten straight victories and Parkview on three.

Etowah is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Carrollton. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 21 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Parkview posted their closest win since March 12th last Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Hillgrove 3-2.

Emani Ford was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Parkview got a great performance from Andres Jimenez as he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Malachi Washington, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

Parkview's victory bumped their record up to 26-9. As for Etowah, their win bumped their record up to 32-2.

Etowah couldn't quite get it done against Parkview in their previous meeting back in May of 2018 as they fell 5-1. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
