Baseball Recap: Parkview Beats Duluth for Their Third Straight Victory

Parkview had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Duluth Wildcats 15-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-1 last Friday.

JT Whritenour looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Malachi Washington was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Emani Ford was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Parkview hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five strikeouts batters in eight consecutive matchups.

Parkview's record is now 18-5. As for Duluth, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Parkview will square off against North Gwinnett at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Duluth, they will face off against Meadowcreek at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
