            Football Recap: Palo Alto Vikings vs. Menlo School Knights        
        
		
        
        
            
Palo Alto extended their losing streak  (dating back to last season) to eight  on Friday, dropping them down to 0-7. They took a  blow against the Menlo School Knights, falling  49-6. The  matchup marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring  game so far this season.
 Justin Fung threw for 141 yards and one  touchdown.   Clement Romanski was his top target, picking up 52 receiving yards.  On the ground,  Shanley Davey rushed for 36 yards.
As for Menlo School, the  win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. Those  victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.3 points on average this season.
 Menlo School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Jack Freehill led the charge by rushing for 50 yards and a pair of  TDs, while also throwing for 214 yards and two  touchdowns. That's the most  passing yards  Freehill has posted since back in October of 2024.  Chuck Wynn was another key rusher, gaining 140 total yards.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Palo Alto will  take on  rival Menlo-Atherton  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Menlo School is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Los Gatos  at 2:00  p.m.  on Saturday. That  contest will pit two of the most dominant  signal callers against one another:  Freehill and  Callum Schweitzer.
