Baseball Recap: Carmel Takes a Loss

Carmel came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Mundelein Mustangs, falling 11-3. The Corsairs have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Michael Haran was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Dahm, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Carmel's defeat dropped their record down to 13-21. As for Mundelein, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Carmel will take on Fenwick at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Mundelein, they will challenge Grayslake Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
