Tristen Keys, Calvin Russell headline top 10 wide receivers in high school football

Viral sensation Brysen Wright one of two sophomores featured.

We kicked off our position-by-position breakdown of the 2025 high school football season with the quarterbacks and running backs.

Next up are the wide receivers. 


Keys is the highest-rated recruit from Mississippi since Cam Akers in 2017. He is a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses and is the fourth-rated player overall in the Class of 2026 according to 247Sports. 



Russell helped the Bulls win their first state title since 2019 last season. He became the first five-star player to commit to Syracuse since 2001. 

Morgan had an impressive junior campaign hauling in 70 receptions for 1,162 yards and 14 touchdowns. The five-star wideout committed to Alabama last July. 

Jamier Brown of Wayne (Huber Heights, Ohio) was the lone receiver from the Class of 2027 featured. He was a first team selection on the 2024 MaxPreps Sophomore All-America squad.

Eric McFarland of IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) and Brysen Wright of Mandarin (Jacksonville, Fla.) were both selected from the Class of 2028. They both put together huge freshman seasons playing against elite competition. They have combined for 50 FBS offers as they head into their sophomore year.

Expect the five-star receiver to make a huge impact for the No. 1 team in the MaxPreps Top 25 after missing the majority of his junior season with a knee injury.

Reclassified to the Class of 2026 in February and has been making big plays for one of the top programs in Texas since his freshman year.

Has been one of the most productive wideouts over the last two years posting 140 receptions for 2,593 yards and 36 touchdowns.

Led a talented receiving corps in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns as a freshman.

Played against top competition as a junior and finished with 50 catches for 851 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Made one of the most viral catches a couple weeks ago playing flag football and led his team with 646 yards receiving and eight touchdowns as a freshman last fall.
