Softball Recap: Alliance Bulldogs vs. Bayard Tigers

Alliance had won three straight on the road, but on Thursday they bumped up to 12-17 to make it four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bayard Tigers, sneaking past 10-9. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 7-2 victory on Thursday.

Regan Cornish was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up seven earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double.

In other batting news, Sivia Acosta and Kaiya Hudson did most of the damage at the plate: Acosta got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Hudson went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. In other batting news, Addy Dalbey and Kinlee Schmaltz did some serious damage despite the final result: Dalbey got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run, while Schmaltz went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Zoleigh Reffalt, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.

Coming up, Alliance will venture away from home to face off against Chadron on Saturday. Bayard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
