Alliance had won three straight on the road, but on Thursday they bumped up to 12-17 to make it four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bayard Tigers, sneaking past 10-9. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 7-2 victory on Thursday.

Regan Cornish was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up seven earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double.
In other batting news, Sivia Acosta and Kaiya Hudson did most of the damage at the plate: Acosta got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Hudson went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Hudson has posted since back in September. Hannah Benzel was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs.
As for Bayard, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games.
Like Alliance, Bayard also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaidence Lee. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Lee has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Addy Dalbey and Kinlee Schmaltz did some serious damage despite the final result: Dalbey got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run, while Schmaltz went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Zoleigh Reffalt, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.
Coming up, Alliance will venture away from home to face off against Chadron on Saturday. Bayard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
