Baseball Recap: Valwood Comes Up Short

Valwood was the 7-3 winner over Terrell Academy when they last played one another last Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Valwood Valiants fell just short of the Terrell Academy Eagles by a score of 8-7 on Friday.

Chase Helfer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Dax Womack was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Helfer wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Valwood lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Valwood's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Terrell Academy, they pushed their record up to 5-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Valwood will take on Tiftarea Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Terrell Academy, they will face off against Brookwood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
