Baseball Game Preview: George Walton Academy Bulldogs vs. Piedmont Academy Cougars

The George Walton Academy Bulldogs will square off against the Piedmont Academy Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Having struggled with six losses in a row dating back to last season, George Walton Academy turned things around against Piedmont Academy on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 6-1. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

George Walton Academy got a great performance from Mason Thomason as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Braden Callaway, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Mac Maughon also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Piedmont Academy is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3. As for George Walton Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
