Preview: Desert Scorpions vs. Rosamond Roadrunners
Desert is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Rosamond is on a eight-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Desert Scorpions will take on the Rosamond Roadrunners at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Desert stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by Mammoth at home to the tune of 58-14. Given Desert's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 561st, while Mammoth is ranked 1177th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Destiny Hart, who shot 4-for-5 from deep and dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. She hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for six straight games. Kloyee Baldwin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Rosamond earned a 41-33 win over Kern Valley on Tuesday.
Desert is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Rosamond, their victory bumped their record up to 19-7.
Desert beat Rosamond 50-40 when the teams last played back in January. Will Desert repeat their success, or does Rosamond have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
